I am always pleased to bring news of innovations and developments that benefit boatowners, and make their sailing or boating even more enjoyable. This year is no exception as we continue to grow our position as the world leader in the supply of deck equipment — a position we have built through providing products that perform better and enhance some of the most beautiful craft in the world. The addition of the renowned Simpson-Lawrence range of windlasses and anchor systems to the established Lewmar range, is increasingly appreciated by our customers. To ensure we can meet the growing demand for winches, hatches, portlights, windlasses and anchor systems, we have invested in a £3.5 million programme to improve capacity. New factories, state-of-the-art machining, despatch and distribution facilities have been commissioned to improve the supply and service we can offer our customers. On the water, the new millennium has seen Lewmar deck equipment specified by the most demanding clients for the most critical environments. Our R&D teams continue to work at the edge of technology through their involvement in the world's toughest races — and this innovation can be seen in the continued improvement of our range and the introduction of yet more new products. As well as striving for engineering excellence and investing in meeting customer demand for new products, we are dedicated to supporting the needs of our many customers and the boating public who make our business such a pleasure to operate within.
