Displacement and Position Sensor Products
Capacitive Sensors
Capacitive sensors are noncontact devices capable of high-resolution measurement of the position and/or change of position of any conductive target. The nanometer resolution of high-performance capacitive sensors makes them indispensable in today's nanotechnology world. They can also be used to measure the position or other properties of nonconductive targets.

Eddy-Current Displacement Sensor
Eddy-Current sensors are noncontact devices capable of high-resolution measurement of the position and/or change of position of any conductive target. Eddy-Current sensors are also called inductive sensors, but generally "eddy current" refers to precision displacement instruments (or nondestructive testing probes) and "inductive" refers to inexpensive proximity switches. High resolution and tolerance of dirty environments make eddy-current sensors indispensable in today's modern industrial operations.

Application Specific Sensor Products
Label Sensors
Optics-free sensing technology is at the heart of these label sensors. They see labels regular "eyes" can't see — like clear labels on a clear liner! This improved technology also makes them faster and more accurate - even on ordinary paper labels. Our label sensors use capacitive or ultrasonic technology so they have no sensitivity to color or contrast. Changing thickness of the material at the label edge is what triggers the sensors.
The LRD8200 is our newest label sensor. It's designed to make your label-sensing life as easy as possible. No need to hold down buttons and count the number of seconds, or try and interpret flashing light patterns to determine what you've just changed or adjusted. And it eliminates the need for costly "eye-marks" on label webs.
LRD6110: Capacitive Label Sensor for Most Label Types
The LRD6110 capacitive label sensor senses most labels: clear, paper, metallic artwork, metallic inks, foils, or hot-stamps and eliminates the need for costly "eye-marks" on label webs. It will also sense splices! Solid foil labels where the artwork is printed on foil will work best with the LRD8200.
Speed = Accuracy
Capacitive technology is by far the fastest label sensing technology. Faster = more accurate registration and label placement - on most types of labels. Compare 20 µS to 300-500 µS of other technologies.
LRD2100: Capacitive Label Sensor for Metal-Free Labels (Clear or Paper)
This award winning capacitive clear label sensor features accurate, reliable, stable registration for clear and paper labels and eliminates the need for costly "eye-marks" on label webs.. Adjustments are not required when changing roll stock or when the environment changes. This clear label sensor is also great for detecting splices! It works great with paper labels too.
Speed = Accuracy
Capacitive technology is by far the fastest label sensing technology. Faster = more accurate registration and label placement. Compare 20 µS to 300-500 µS of other technologies
UltraLRD V2: Ultrasonic Label Sensor with Wide Fork for All Label Types
The UltraLRD V2 uses ultrasonic technology to reliably sense every label type including metallic, clear, and low-contrast labels, and features a 4mm (0.16") fork.
- Solid Foil - Hot-Stamp - High-Carbon Ink - Partial Foil - Clear on Clear - Paper
LRD3100: Precision Label Sensor for Clear & Opaque Labels in Tight Spaces
The technology of the original Clear Label Sensor applied to tight spaces. The same stable, reliable, accurate sensing of the LRD2100 repackaged with a separate sensor head to squeeze into smaller areas. Also great for detecting splices! The LRD3100 will not work with metallic labels or labels with foil-stamp artwork - use the LRD6110.
- Clear-on-clear labels - Limited Access Areas - Adjustments not necessary after initial setup - Easy operation - Faster than optical sensors - Industry standard output - Lion Precision reliability - Splice Detection - Two-Year Warranty (details) - CE and RoHS compliant
LRD4100:垂直标签传感器 for Clear & Opaque Label Slitting/Rewinding
A Clear Label Sensor for high-speed counting on slitters rewinders. Vertically mounted for multiple unit operation. Use on drug and other critical label counts during slittling and rewinding. Faster than standard optical sensors AND it works with clear-on-clear labels. The LRD4100 will not work with metallic labels or labels with foil-stamp artwork.
- Clear-on-clear labels - High-Speed Counting - Slitters and Rewinders - Faster than optical sensors - Industry standard output - Lion Precision reliability - CE and RoHS Compliant
The LionEye2 optical sensor provides simplicity and low cost for general label registration - with Lion Precision customer service and reliability. A two-button interface makes the LionEye2 flexible and easy to use.
- Easy, Push-Button Teach - Programmable Light/Dark Switching - Optional Manual Sensitivity Settings - Industry standard NPN & PNP outputs - Lion Precision reliability - CE and RoHS Compliant
Tear-tape sensing for overwrap packaging. LRD5100 will sense missing clear or colored tear-tapes in overwrap applications.

Machine Tool Metrology
Quality control of manufacturing requires the ability to measure your machine tool. New technologies have made measuring your machine with dial indicators and other manual methods obsolete. Noncontact sensors and advanced analysis software can empower you to accurately measure critical parameters of your machine tool at full operating speeds and with relative ease. Using the tools below will help you anticipate problems, predict machine capability, and maximize machine performance. Lion Precision has developed tools — hardware, software, and educational — to enable you to understand your machine tool and its capabilities. Armed with these tools you can predict performance and adjust your machine and its environment to achieve the highest possible performance.
The Spindle Error Analyzer measures the motions of a machine tool spindle at operating speeds. It then analyzes and reports error motions that decrease part quality. These measurements aid in troubleshooting, increase part quality, and prevent unnecessary spindle rebuilds (a very common occurrence).
- Discover problems before you make bad parts. - Qualify/Test machine performance before acceptance. - Find root cause of machining errors
The micromachining version of SEA uses smaller probes, probe nest, and master ball compared to the standard SEA version. It includes the same proprietary software, sensor system, and ANSI and ISO standard tests for helping you understand the performance of your spindle at operational speeds. The Micromachining Spindle Error Analyzer measures your machine spindles with sub-nanometer resolution.
A specialized, Dynamic Runout configuration of our Elite Series sensors. The Targa III measures spindle runout (wobble) at various speeds so you know the best speed to run and you know when to rebuild. This computer-based system provides the Lion Precision exclusive Dynamic Runout (DRO) function enabling you to monitor TIR under different conditions without having to reset TIR. Standard TIR is also available. An output signal provides an analog voltage proportional to the selected peak processing (Normal, MAX, MIN, TIR, or DRO) .
These CE compliant power supplies are specifically selected for high frequency switching (100kHz) which prevents switching noise from affecting sensor output resolution.
